We have stopped with the whole30 but I had this salad lying around so I figured I share with you anyway as it is delicious and also great if you’re not on any diet whatsoever! It’s a quick and easy salad even though it needs a little bit of adjusting from the original. We found the recipe in the book Hallo paleo from Willeke Linneman (In dutch) but like I said it just needs a little twist to make it special.
A few walnuts, some goji berries, pecans or raisins will be fantastic and will make it a really great lunch. Perfect for a monday afternoon!
Carrot salad with minced meat – whole30 approved
- Prep Time: 10 mins

- 250 gr carrots
- 300 gr of minced beef
- 1 tsp of garam masala
- sesame seeds
- For the dressing:
- 1 small onion
- ground ginger
- optional; orange juice
- Grate the carrots either by hand or in a machine. Mix the meat with the garam masala and some salt and pepper and mixed it well. Bake the minced meat in a frying pan and crumble it while baking.
- Make the dressing by mixing the ingredients and tasting if it is not too sour. i added a bit of orange juice into mine as the lemon was particularly sour. I would normally have added a bit of honey to take the sting out of it but since that wasn’t an option I used the orange juice.
- Mix the dressing through the carrots and add the minced beef. Season if needed and sprinkle with some sesameseeds.
